Chase Claypool Traded to Miami Dolphins

Dolphins Acquire Wide Receiver from Bears

Miami Finally Moves into Win Column

The Miami Dolphins have acquired wide receiver Chase Claypool from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2025 draft pick. The Dolphins, who finally moved into the win column on Sunday with a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, are hoping that Claypool will provide a much-needed boost to their passing attack.

Claypool, a second-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020, has one year left on his rookie contract. He has 151 career receptions for 1,884 yards and 19 touchdowns. He had a breakout season in 2021, catching 59 passes for 860 yards and seven touchdowns. However, he struggled in 2022, catching just 32 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dolphins are hoping that a change of scenery will help Claypool rediscover his old form. He will be reunited with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who was his teammate in college at Alabama. The Dolphins are also hoping that Claypool can help them develop a more consistent passing attack. They have struggled to find a reliable wide receiver opposite Tyreek Hill this season.

The Bears, meanwhile, are getting rid of a player who was unhappy with his role in the offense. Claypool had requested a trade earlier this season, and the Bears were happy to oblige. They are now left with a young and inexperienced wide receiver corps, led by Darnell Mooney and Equanimeous St. Brown.

The trade is a win-win for both teams. The Dolphins get a talented wide receiver who could help them make a playoff push. The Bears get a draft pick that they can use to build their team for the future.
