Freshman Sensation

Dan Hurley began his collegiate career as a freshman point guard at Seton Hall University. Joining the 1991-92 team alongside Terry Dehere and Jerry Walker, Hurley quickly made an impact. The team's success solidified his status as a promising young talent.

Coaching Accolades

After graduating from Seton Hall, Hurley embarked on a successful coaching career. As of the 2023-24 season, his overall coaching record stands at an impressive 288-163. His achievements include:

  • Leading the University of Connecticut men's basketball team to the NCAA Tournament seven times
  • Winning the American Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship in 2016 and 2021
  • Coaching the UConn Huskies to the AAC Tournament Championship in 2016 and 2020

Return to Seton Hall

Despite the success he achieved elsewhere, Hurley never forgot his roots at Seton Hall. After a brief stint as an assistant coach, he returned to the Pirates as head coach in 2010.
