Mike Lynch: Missing in Yacht Capsize
British Tech Tycoon Among Six
Vanished in Caribbean Waters
British tech magnate Mike Lynch, 59, is among six reported missing after their yacht capsized in the Caribbean.
The entrepreneur is known for founding Autonomy Corporation, which was sold to Hewlett-Packard in 2011 for £10.3 billion ($12.4 billion).
Lynch has been accused of fraud related to the Autonomy sale and was extradited to the US in 2020 to face criminal charges.
The yacht, named "Mystere," was found overturned on Monday, January 9, 2023, off the coast of St. Lucia.
Rescue crews have been searching for survivors, but so far no one has been found.
Lynch and his wife, Angela, were among the six people aboard the yacht.
Lynch is a prominent figure in the British technology industry.
He founded Autonomy in 1996 and grew it into a global software company.
The company was sold to HP in 2011, but Lynch has since been embroiled in legal disputes over the deal.
The US authorities have accused Lynch of fraud related to the sale of Autonomy.
He was extradited to the US in 2020 and is awaiting trial.
The disappearance of Lynch and the other five people aboard the yacht is a tragic event.
The search for survivors is ongoing, but hopes are fading.
Our thoughts are with the families of the missing.
